Helen K. Stephenson

Helen K. Stephenson, 89, of Port Clinton died Thursday, May 5, 2016 with her loving daughters by her side at Elmwood Assisted Living in Fremont. She was born Feb. 18, 1927 in Bellevue, OH the daughter of George and Dorothy (Kopp) Polley. She married Max C. Stephenson on October 9, 1948. He preceded her in death on September 13, 2005. Helen and Max were the owner and operator of Log Cabins Resort from 1956-1969. Helen also worked part time for Mary's Blossom Shoppe in Port Clinton, OH. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Port Clinton and the Port Clinton Yacht Club. Previously she was a member of Port Clinton Jr. Women's Club and Mother's Club. She enjoyed playing bridge, golfing and boating. She and Max enjoyed traveling and spent their winters in Punta Gorda, FL. Her greatest love was spending time with her family. Surviving are her daughters: Janet (Dick) Rhode of Port Clinton, Linda (Jim) Valasek of Elmore; grandchildren: Jared (Amber) Rhode, Matthew Rhode, Eric (Tricia) Valasek, Molly (Ian) Davis, Blake Stephenson, Alex Stephenson, Joshua Stephenson; great-grandchildren: Bryson Valasek and Lexa Valasek; brother: Harley (Kathy) Polley of Bellevue; sister: Doris Block of Sun City, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Max, son: Brian C. Stephenson and brothers: Robert and George Polley. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Monday, May 9, 2016 at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1124 Fulton St. Port Clinton, OH where visitation will be held Monday from 9:00 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH. Pastor Bruce Batchelor-Glader will be officiating.
