Helen Hope VanRensselaer, 90, of Catawba Island, died Friday at Riverview Health Care Campus, Oak Harbor. She was born October 24, 1915 in Toledo, the daughter of Graydon and Bess (Siefield) Rymers. Mrs. VanRensselaer was a homemaker, a member of the Elk’s Ladies and a volunteer at Magruder Hospital. Surviving is her daughter, Darlene Claus, and her son Norman (Dolly) Thayer, both of Catawba Island; grandchildren Mark (Ann) Thayer, Michelle (Terry) Thayer-Foster, Valerie Thayer, Maria (Eric) Claus-Konoff, Jennifer (Brian) Claus-Fiorletta and P. Michael (Amy) Claus; thirteen great-grandchildren, and a sister, Raydelle McMeeken of Bellevue. She was preceded in death by her husband Phillip VanRensselaer in 1990, her parents, a son Dennis Thayer and a sister Marion Smith. Funeral Services will be held at 6 pm Monday, July 3 at the Neidecker, LeVeck and Crosser Funeral Home, Port Clinton, with the Rev. Clyde Mayberry officiating.
