Helen Hoyer Brown of Lakeside, Ohio, and Rancho Mirage, California, passed away June 24, 2022, in Sandusky, Ohio. Born September 1, 1924, in Columbus, Ohio. Daughter of the late Ralph W. Hoyer and Eva Barnhill Hoyer. Attended Bexley, Ohio, schools graduating in 1942. Graduated from The Ohio State University in 1947 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. A member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority at Ohio State. Graduated from Xavier University in 1971 with a Master of Science in Education. She was an elementary teacher in Columbus Public Schools for 30 years. She had interest in sports and loved to travel. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Elizabeth Hoyer Drackett, her brother William B. Hoyer, her first husband Thomas Albert Nutter and her former husband and companion Richard Wolk Brown. Survived by daughter Nancy (Charles) Anderson, son Thomas (Christine) Nutter, grandson Thomas (Leilani) Nutter, great granddaughter Marli Lyn and many other wonderful relatives. Member Sandusky Yacht Club. She spent her winters in Rancho Mirage, California, where she belonged to the Kappa Alpha Theta Palm Springs Desert Area Circle, Junior League of Palm Springs Desert Communities and Coachella Valley Alumnae Panhellenic. She spent a portion of her summers throughout her life at Lakeside, Ohio, on Lake Erie where her grandfather William Exline Hoyer first camped in 1890. At her request there will be no services. Private graveside services will be held at Sackett Cemetery, Marblehead, OH. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.neideckercrosserpriesman.com .
