Harriet Y. Wray

Harriet Y. Wray, 93, of Port Clinton, Ohio died Saturday, May 7, 2011 at H.B. Magruder Hospital in Port Clinton. She was born on January 18, 1918 in Castalia, Ohio, the daughter of the late Karl and Flossie Mae (Smith) Ketterer. She was a 2nd grade teacher at Sandusky Public Schools until her retirement. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Sandusky; member of the Daughters of the American Revolution; and member of the Retired Teachers Association. Her hobbies included cooking, gathering fruits and nuts, and going out to eat. Survivors include her son: Paul H. (Carol Sue) Wray, Port Clinton, OH; daughter: Rachel (Grattan) Giesey, Cleveland Heights, OH; grandchildren: Grattan (Kimberly) Giesey III, Amanda (Ed) Walsh, Kurt (Amy) Wray, Andrea Wray; great grandchildren: Grattan IV, Peyton Olivia Giesey, Rachel Walsh; and brother: Richard Ketterer, Burnt Hills, New York. There will be no visitation or services as cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions may be made in Harriet's memory to the Humane Society of Erie County, 1911 Superior Street, Sandusky, Ohio 44870.
