Harold V. Sample

Harold V. Sample, 96, of Sandusky, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, Ohio. He was born April 4, 1926 in Oak Harbor, Ohio the son of Harry and Opal (Bowman) Sample, Sr. He married Jean Adele Juby on October 21, 1950 and she preceded him in death on March 17, 1999. Harold was a United States Army Veteran serving in World War II. He was an Engineer working at NASA Plumbrook and later at NASA John Glenn. He enjoyed bowling and he was a member of the Oliver H. Perry Masonic Lodge 341 for over 50 years. Surviving are his daughter: Marla (Thomas) Laney of Sandusky; son: Mark (Karin) Sample of Orrstown, PA; grandchildren: Steven Chudy, Gwen Cromer, Matthew Sample, Tim Sample; twelve great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife: Jean; sisters: Rosemary Coleman, Eileen Frye; brothers: Harry Sample, Jr, Knolan Sample. Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 am Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Lakeview Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH with military honors.
