Harold M. Rice

Harold M. Rice, 77 of Oak Harbor, OH died Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at Stein Hospice, Sandusky, OH following a lengthy illness. He was born January 29, 1933 in Adams County, OH to the late Ed and Maxine (Conley) Rice. On January 29, 1956 he married the former Faye Louise Gulish. Harold worked in Maintenance for US Gypsum, Genoa, OH retiring in 1988. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Oak Harbor. Harold and his wife spent many years operating at stand a Jamie's Flea Market in South Amherst, OH on Wednesdays and Saturdays. In younger years, he enjoyed Stock Car Racing in Fremont and farming his 350 acres of land. He loved to hunt, fish, visit flea markets, and hang out at Kozy Korner's having coffee at the round table. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Faye Louise Rice of Oak Harbor; sons Michael J. (Debra) Rice of Oak Harbor and Jeffery J. Rice of Bradner, OH; brothers: Fred (Alma) Rice of Rocky Ridge, OH and Joe Rice of Oak Harbor; sisters: Pauline Hodge of West Union, OH and Katie Parman of Oak Harbor; grandchildren: Lori Ann, Alysa, Jessica, and Ajay Rice; step grandchildren Adam and Andrew Blank; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Edival Evans. A Memorial Service will take place Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 10am at Grace Baptist Church, 325 Toussaint Portage Rd., Oak Harbor, with Pastor Rick Bickelhaupt officiating.
