Gwendolyn F. "Sis" Apling

Gwendolyn F. “Sis” Apling, 99 of Oak Harbor, OH died Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at Riverview Health Care Campus, Oak Harbor. She was born February 9, 1923 in Carroll Township, Ohio to the late John and Vonda (Flaharty) Nietfeld. She married Ervin Apling who preceded her in death in 2011. Sis would be remembered as a sales clerk for Hasselbach Meats, where she worked for many years. She was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor. She is survived by her daughter Mary Lou (Michael) Stolz; son Robert (Kathy) Apling; 5 grandchildren; and 8 great- grandchildren, all of who she loved dearly. She was also preceded in death by her brothers William and J.C. Nietfeld, and daughter Sue Jones. Private Graveside Services will be held in Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor under the direction of the Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor Chapel.
