Grover C. Garber, 85 of Oak Harbor, OH died Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Magruder Hospital, Port Clinton, OH. He was born January 26, 1928 in Rogersville, TN. On June 29, 1957 he married the love of his life the former Janice R. Keller and she survives. Grover retired in 1991 as a Millwright in the Engineering Department for US Gypsum in Port Clinton. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor. Grover enjoyed spending his time gardening, woodworking and mostly loved being a husband, father and grandfather. He was a faithful and strong family man that adored his wife, children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed the constant companionship of his best friend Max, his dog that preceded him in death. His family will fondly remember him as the man they could always depend on and the guy with a quick wit and great sense of humor. Survivors include his wife Janice of Oak Harbor; children: Roland C. Garber of Oak Harbor, Kathy Garber of Holland, OH and James R. (Jessica) Garber of Graytown, OH; grandchildren: Andrea (Curt Cochran), Andrew, Seth, Michael, Grace, Alivia, and Peyton; brother Kurt Garber of Tennessee, and special caretakers who made his life a happier place. He was preceded in death by his mother Willie (Faubush) Garber, brother Otis Garber, and sister Betty Short. A private family ceremony will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 with Pastor Cheryl Wessel officiating. Burial will be in Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor.
