Glenn A. Schultz, 78 of Oak Harbor, Ohio died Friday, December 13, 2013 at Riverview Health Care Campus, Oak Harbor. He was born June 27, 1935 in Limestone, Ohio to the late Edward and Josephine (Hess) Schultz. He was a 1954 graduate of Oak Harbor High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving twice. His first enlistment was 1958 1960 with the 2nd Armored Division. His second enlistment was with the 1st Howitzer Battalion in the 78th Artillery. He was also stationed at Fort Meade during the Cuban Missile Crisis. On February 27, 1960 he married the former Mary Alice Dirnberg, and she survives. He worked at the United States Post Office in Oak Harbor, Matthews Boat Company, Port Clinton, retired from Peter Eckrich & Sons, Fremont, in 1988, and also worked at Fremont Plastic Molds. Glenn was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Oak Harbor where he had served as a trustee. He was also a member of American Legion Post #114 of Oak Harbor and was a Union Steward while at Eckrich & Sons. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, and camping. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Mary Alice of Oak Harbor; son Bruce Schultz of Fremont, OH; daughters: Cathy Schultz of Fremont, Sue (Harry Ewing) Guerra of Oak Harbor; brother, Myron (Nancy) Schultz of Port Clinton, OH; sister, Margie Zunk of Oak Harbor; grandchildren: Amber (Josh) Cupp and Megan (RJay Finke) Rutherford; and great-grandchild, William G. Johnson. He was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Goetz. The family will receive friends from 2-8 P.M. Monday at Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor, with the family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at St. Paul United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Kyle J. Timmons officiating. Interment will be in Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor, where military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post #114 and V.F.W. Post #8732, both of Oak Harbor. Memorial Contributions may be made to Stein Hospice or the Capital Improvement Fund of St. Paul United Church of Christ.
