Gladys M. Kaylor

Gladys M. Kaylor, 86 of Elmore, OH died Friday, November 12, 2010 at Bay Park Community Hospital, Oregon. She was born May 28, 1924 in Laurens County, S.C. to the late Austin and Henrietta (Williams) Whitten. On October 24, 1946 she married James Kaylor and he survives. Gladys worked at the Ottawa Basket Factory in Elmore and retired in 1986 as a housekeeper for Sheraton - Westgate on Secor Rd., Toledo, OH. She was a member of the former Elmore Christian Church and was currently attending St. John's United Church of Christ, Elmore. She also held memberships with Women of the Moose, Port Clinton Lodge #1610 and Harris- Elmore Fire Department Auxiliary. Gladys enjoyed shopping at Elder-Beermans, housekeeping, cooking, walking and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband James R. "Dick" Kaylor of Elmore; sons: Charles (Kathy) Kaylor of Martin, OH, John (Donna Alt) Kaylor of Elmore, Jeff Kaylor of Oak Harbor, and David (Royan) Kaylor of Elmore; grandchildren: Amy, Michael, Jennifer, Jason, Kyle, Corey, great- grandchildren: Alexandra, Arianna, Michael, Colleen, Audrey, Alaia, Avery, Brody, Blake, Baize and Kelsey; sister Vivian Powell of Laurens, SC; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother George Whitten; sisters: Minnie Williams, Bessie Whitten, Mart Moore and Margie Whitten. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-8pm with the family present from 2-4 & 6-8pm at the Crosser Funeral Home, Elmore- Genoa Chapel, 19550 W. SR. 51, Elmore, OH 43416. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at 11am at the Funeral Home with the Rev. William L. Bartholomew officiating. Burial will be in Harris- Elmore Union Cemetery.
