Gladys E. Schoenfeld

Gladys E. Schoenfeld, 93, of Port Clinton, Ohio, died Thursday, April 7, 2011 at Magruder Hospital, Port Clinton. A resident of Edgewood Manor Nursing Center, Gladys was born in Richmond, Virginia on April 2, 1918, a daughter of Walter & Martha (MacMurray) Taylor. Gladys was a homemaker and enjoyed reading and sewing. She also loved playing Bingo. On July 3, 1937, she married Harold Schoenfeld, and he preceded her in death in 1988. Gladys is survived by her children, Kay Kohlman, Port Clinton, Bonnie (Roger) Fearing, Sandusky, Ohio, Robert (Carol) Schoenfeld, Catawba Island, and Thomas Schoenfeld, Louisville, Kentucky; sister, Ruth Fae (Elmer) King, Kingsport, Tennessee; brother, Norman (Virginia) Taylor, Port Clinton; 10 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harold Schoenfeld, and 10 siblings. Family and friends are invited to call after 9:00 A.M. Saturday at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Port Clinton, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday. Rabbi Roger Fearing will officiate, and interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
