Gerald W. Mahler, 79, of Marblehead, passed away suddenly Monday, May 17, 2021 in Wheeling. WV. He was born June 9, 1941 in Curtice, OH the son of Joseph B. and Gladys (Scott) Mahler, Sr. He married Lucy Bean on June 22, 1968. Gerald retired from Clarklift in Cleveland and formerly worked at U. S. Gypsum. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marblehead. He was a past Knight and 4th Degree member of Knights of Columbus and an active member of the Marblehead Peninsula Lions Club. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan, loved to tell stories, enjoyed watching wrestling and collecting coins and stamps. Surviving are his wife: Lucy; children: Gregory Mahler of Marblehead, Michelle Mahler of Marblehead, George Mahler of Marblehead, Helen Bogner of Norwalk; grandchildren: Seth Bogner, Sean Bogner, Kaitlyn Bogner; brothers: Walter (Linda) Mahler of Marblehead, James (Rita) Mahler of Marblehead, Frank Mahler of Marblehead; sisters: Barbara (Jim) McGee of Port Clinton, Evelyn Bodi of Marblehead, Maggie (Gibby) Wadsworth of Marblehead. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Chris Mahler, Jack Mahler, Joseph Mahler, Jr.; sisters: Ellen Mahler and Carol Covey. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Friday, May 21, 2021 at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 E. Harbor Rd. Lakeside-Marblehead, OH with visitation on Friday from 12:00 noon until the time of the service. Father James Brown will be officiating.
