Gerald M. “Jerry” Giesler, 65 of Elmore, OH died Saturday, December 19, 2020 at his home under Hospice Care. He was born November 15, 1955 in Toledo, OH to the late Myron and Suzanne (Avers) Giesler. He was a 1973 graduate of Woodmore High School. In 1980 he married the former Robin Roth and she survives. Jerry was a tool & die maker by trade and an entrepreneur. He owned and operated Riverside Machine & Automation in Genoa, OH. He was a past member of the Portage- Valley Flying Club in Elmore. Jerry enjoyed tinkering with anything mechanical, and was fond of exploring alternative fuel sources, including wind and solar energy, and making biodiesel. He also loved riding his motorcycle, piloting hobby planes, enjoyed classic cars, and was a lifelong lover of history and reading. Survivors include his wife Robin of Woodville, OH; children: Curtis (Sarah) Giesler of Woodville, and Tori Giesler of Philadelphia, PA; grandchildren McKenzie and Mason Giesler; brothers: Matt (Becky) Giesler, Dan (Kim) Giesler, John (Shirley) Giesler, and Dave (Carol) Giesler; many nieces and nephews. Due to the Covid19 Pandemic, all services for Jerry will be privately handled by the family under the direction of Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Elmore-Genoa Chapel. Interment will take place in the Harris- Elmore Union Cemetery, Elmore. A public celebration of Jerry’s life is planned to be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be given to: Hospice of Northwest Ohio, American Cancer Society, or the Harris- Elmore Public Library.
