Gerald F. Blatt

Gerald F. "Gary" Blatt, 70, of Perrysburg, OH and formerly of Oak Harbor, OH died Monday, October 17, 2011 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. He was born February 25, 1941 in Oak Harbor to the late Fredrick and Dorothy Blatt. Gary was employed for 29 years at Standard Products in Port Clinton. He also spent 9 years at Camp Perry for the National Rifle Matches working in maintenance. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy. In the healthy years of his life, Gary could be found with a fishing pole in his hand or out hunting with the guys. Nobody was a stranger to Gary. Anyone who could talk fishing, hunting, and politics or about the Navy and the Minnesota Vikings was a friend to Gary. He was a very proud, strong and courageous man who was loved and will be deeply missed by his family and many friends. Survivors include his children Kimberly (Mark) Helmke of Perrysburg and Joseph (Angie) Blatt of Oak Harbor; sisters: Esther (Jesse) Priddy and Ruth (Glenn) Whipple both of Oak Harbor and Norma Kihlken of Port Clinton; brother Russell Blatt of Rocky Ridge, OH; 5 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday, October 20, 2011 from 4-8pm at the Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor. Services will be Thursday evening at 8pm at the Funeral Home. Interment will be in Locust Point Cemetery, Carroll Township. Memorial Contributions are being directed to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Carroll Township EMS.
