George W. Daniel, Sr.

George W. Daniel, Sr. passed away peacefully February 22, 2009 in Stow, Ohio. He was born on June 26, 1919 in Norwalk, Ohio. He resided in Akron for many years after returning from WW II. After retiring from Roadway Express he lived with his wife Mary in Port Clinton, OH for 30 years, returning to Akron in 1998. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Betty) Daniel (Potter) on November 27, 1998. He was a Christian Brother in Christ, a member and Chaplin of Transport For Christ, an Ordained Minister and servant of our Lord for many years. He was also the loving Father of 7 surviving sons: Harold P. Daniel of Stow, Robert Scott of NFLD, Canada, Frank Daniel of Mich., Jason Scott of AZ., Mike Daniel of Sandusky, Richard Scott of Portage Lakes and George Daniel Jr. of Sandusky. He will also be missed by his five daughter-in-laws, his 18 Grandchildren and 24 great Grandchildren. The Family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Les Price (Dad's best friend), to the wonderful staff at Stow-Glenn Nursing facility and also to the staff at Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital for the compassion and understanding they have shown not only George, but the entire family! There will be no services at this time as cremation has taken place. The family will hold a small graveside service at the Catawba Island Cemetery o n Catawba Island near Port Clinton, Ohio later in the spring.
