George Tverdick

George Tverdick, Jr., 88, of Marblehead, died Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at his residence. He was born July 20, 1918 in Marblehead, a son of George and Anna (Gresh) Tverdick, Sr. George was retired from the L & M Railroad and the Standard Slag Company in Marblehead. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Jednota Lodge. Surviving are his sisters, Mary Brown of Marblehead and Josephine Distel of Michigan, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Mike Tverdick, sisters, Margaret Slobodian and Ann Tverdick, and an infant brother. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Friday at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, Lakeside-Marblehead, where scripture services will be held at 8:30 P.M. Friday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 A.M. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marblehead, where friends may call after 9:30 A.M. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Marblehead. Memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Home Health and Hospice.
