George Joseph Biedenbach

July 21, 1954 — January 2, 2014

George Joseph Biedenbach, 59, passed away in the early morning hours of January 2, 2014 after a long battle with cancer and liver disease. George was a liver-transplant survivor of three years and showed a tremendous amount of courage and strength in the fight for his life. He passed away in his home, surrounded by his family and countless memories. George was born on July 21, 1954 in Cleveland, Ohio. He spent many of is formative years on his grandparents' farm in Pennsylvania before completing his education at E.E. Root High School in North Royalton, Ohio. He was married to his loving wife Gayle on June 2, 1991. He was able to experience many different occupations before finally becoming settled with and retiring from his position as a grounds manager at Lakeside Chautauqua. George was also an entrepreneur, building his own pressure washing business. He would have worked until the day he died if he were able to. He is known as an early riser and an extremely hard worker. He enjoyed camping with his family, boating in Lake Erie, and gardening at his home. He is survived by loving wife Gayle Marie Biedenbach (nee Allen), daughters Angela of Mentor, Melissa of Port Clinton, and Jennifer of Cleveland, sons Jameson of Rochester, NY, Ryan of Cleveland, and George Joseph Biedenbach II of Port Clinton, grandchildren Lexi, Austin, Brianna and Trent James, special great-neice Kailey, mother Diane and step-father Joseph Biedenbach of Medina, father George Cherry (Jean) of Cleveland, sisters Debbie Rivera (Sis Telling) of Garrettsville, and JoAnne Mehota (Bob) of Medina, brothers Joseph "Danny" Biedenbach (Caroline) of Columbia Station, and Thomas Biedenbach (Shelly) of Chatham, and many loving nieces and nephews. George had many loving and reliable friends who he was able to count on in his time(s) of need. He is predeceased by grandparents John and Anna Parison of Butler, PA and Henry and Catherine Biedenbach of Herman, PA. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2013 at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, LakesideMarblehead, OH where visitation will be held Monday from 2:00 4:00 and 6:00 8:00 pm. Burial will be in Sackett Cemetery, Danbury Township. Pastor Peter Dodd will be officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to the family.
