Genevieve H. Morrison

Genevieve H. Morrison, 88, of Port Clinton, Ohio died on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at The Commons of Providence in Sandusky, Ohio. She was born on October 12, 1922, in Clay Center, Ohio, the daughter of the late Henry and Mildred (Gallup) Herkel. She married Donald Morrison on June 2, 1944, and he preceded her in death on June 12, 1996. She worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Charles Hospital in Oregon, Ohio for 33 years until her retirement in 1984. She was a member of the Woodville United Methodist Church in Woodville, Ohio. She also loved to read books. Survivors include her son: Thomas F. (Margie) Morrison, of Skipperville, Alabama; daughter: Sheryl (James) Finken, of Port Clinton; grandchildren: Troy (Audra) Johnson and Traci Johnson; great grandchildren: Cole and Parker Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a sister: Alice Goehring. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. A private family celebration of life memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will take place at Westwood Cemetery, Woodville, Ohio.
