Gene J. Stachura

Gene J. Stachura "Grumpy" 69, of Catawba Island, died August 25, 2011 at University Hospital, Cleveland, OH. He was born July 20, 1942 in Newark, NJ. He was raised by his mother Dora (Schenker) and step father Nick Dimestria. He married Diane Petrucci on June 20, 1964 and she survives. Gene is a United States Navy Veteran. He retired from General Motors where he was a machinist for 28 years. He was a member of American Legion Post 83, Port Clinton, Oak Harbor Conservation Club and the National Riffle Association. He was a handyman extraordinar and also enjoyed hunting and riding his motor cycle "The Fat Boy". He loved his family and all of his many friends. Surviving are his beloved wife: Diane; daughter: Doriann Sijan of Catawba Island; grandchildren: Jayson and Taylor Sijan; brother: Ricky (Barbara) Dimestria and nephews Eric and Brian Dimestria. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 30, 2011 from 5:00 7:00 pm at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Port Clinton, OH. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later time at American Legion Post 83. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society.
