Gary J. Ohm

Gary J. Ohm, 81, of Port Clinton, passed away Monday, September, 11,

2023 at his home. He was born April 21, 1942 in Port Clinton, the son

of Jacob Frederick and Clara (Hermes) Ohm. He married Kathleen Karpi

on May 20, 1967 and she preceded him in death on August 18, 2022.

Gary graduated from Port Clinton High School and was a member of

Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton, OH. He

previously was a Sr. VP for Port Clinton National Bank and was the

founder of Grande Lake Realty. He retired from Bolte Real Estate

after a very successful career. He served on the Port Clinton

City Schools Board of Education for over 20 years and was President for 9 years.

He holds the State of Ohio record for having attended over 400 consecutive meetings

without an absence. He was also a member of the Port Clinton Yacht Club.

Everyone in Port Clinton knew Gary and he knew everyone in Port Clinton. He was a

great sports fan of golf, college football, all the Cleveland pro teams, but especially

loved watching his grandchildren compete in their sports.

Surviving are his sons: Scott Douglas (Beverly) Ohm of Coldwater, MI,

Michael Joseph (Lisa) Ohm of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Timothy David

(Michelle) Ohm of Westerville, OH, Russell Jacob (Odette Cruz) Ohm of

Corpus Christi, TX; grandchildren: Wyatt, Eleanor, Holden, Whitney,

Jarod and Logan. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife:

Kathleen; brother: Eugene Ohm and sister: Patricia A. (Ohm) Mazur.

Visitation will be held Sunday, September 17, 2023 from 1:00pm –

5:00pm at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation

Service, 1124 Fulton St. Port Clinton, OH where funeral services will

be conducted 11:00 am Monday, September 18, 2023. Father Jonathon

Wight will be officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to
