Gary A. Hopp, 68, of Lakeside-Marblehead, OH passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2024 peacefully at his home surrounded by family. He was born June 22, 1956 in Warren, Michigan, the son of Donald and Ann Marie (Stringfellow) Hopp. He married Peggy Pathko (Velotta) on October 5, 1996 in Brecksville, Ohio. Gary was a Charter Boat Captain on Lake Erie operating as Trophy Hunter Charter Services and he was also a real estate agent. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Danbury and the Marblehead V.F.W. Aux.
May we all find comfort in the legacy Gary passes on to all of us, in remembering and cherishing our memories with him. He lived a very full life and realized all of his life’s dreams - to live by the lake, to boat, to fish, and to gather with his family every year for his favorite holiday celebration - a long Christmas Weekend. May he rest in peace.
Surviving are his loving wife: Peggy; children: Craig (Michelle) Hopp of Twinsburg, OH, Sheri (Scott) Miller of Strongsville, OH, John (Mary) Pathko III of Mentor, OH, Brian (Stephanie) Pathko of Eastlake, OH; grandchildren: John Pathko IV, Jessica Pathko (fiance Dustin Duff), Brennan Hopp, Alexis Miller, Joshua Hopp, Connor Pathko, Kegan Pathko, Austin Miller, Dylan Miller, Samuel Hopp, Lucille Hopp, Isaac Hopp and Eli Hopp; great-grandchild Weston Duff; as well as numerous relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister: Gail Reed (Hopp).
Memorial services will be conducted 11:00 am Saturday, August 31, 2024 at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 E. Harbor Rd. Lakeside-Marblehead, OH with visitation at the funeral home on Saturday, August 31, 2024 from 10:00 am until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions may be given to the donor’s choice. The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff of Firelands Hospital and Stein Hospice for their care and compassion.
