Gaillard P. "Pete" Willett

Gaillard P. "Pete" Willett, 80 of Elmore, OH died Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Magruder Hospital, Port Clinton, OH. He was born January 31, 1932 in Elmore, OH to the late Dr. Gaillard P. and Margaret (Quimby) Willett. He was a graduate of Harris- Elmore High School and Defiance College. Pete served in the United States Army during the Korean War. On December 31, 1958 he married the former Sharon Sitcler and she survives. He retired from Sun Oil Refinery, Toledo as a Chemist. He was a member of St. Paul Trinity United Methodist Church as well as American Legion Post 279 both in Elmore. He was a former member of the Harris- Elmore Library Board, Woodmore School Board, and Church Trustee. Pete owned and operated Willett's Fireworks where he provided firework shows all over the area for many years. He also enjoyed S.C.R.A.P., and collecting stamps, coins, and antique Christmas decorations. Survivors include his wife of 53 years Sharon of Elmore; daughters: Laurie (Mike) Czeczele of Elmore, and Nina (Kyle) Johannsen of Port Clinton; grandchildren: Ben and Olivia Czeczele; and sister Jeannene Shemeth of Ashley, OH. Funeral Services will be 2pm Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at Crosser Funeral Home, Elmore- Genoa Chapel, where the family will receive friends from noon until the time of service. Burial will be in Harris- Elmore Union Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Harris- Elmore Public Library or a charity of the donor's choice.
