Francis V. "Bud" Wagner, 85, of Catawba Island, died Monday, September 24, 2012 at his residence with his loving wife by his side. He was born on October 1, 1926 in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of the late F. Vernon and Monica Wagner. He had been married to his beloved wife Dolores (Malone) Wagner since January 10, 1953, who survives. He was a graduate of Case Western Reserve, and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a former long time resident of Parma, Ohio, and since retirement from the Cleveland Board of Education, he resided in Port Clinton. He and his wife enjoyed traveling and after retirement they spent winter vacations in Sarasota, Florida for many years. Bud was also an avid golfer, enjoyed snow skiing, and enjoyed some great fishing in Canada and Lake Erie. Survivors include his wife: Doe; four nieces and three nephews; several great nieces and nephews and two great greats. He was preceded in death by his parents and two younger brothers: Gene and Neil. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial and celebration of Bud's life will take place at 9:30am on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 414 Madison Street, Port Clinton with Father John C. Missler officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception School Fund.
