Francis Twarek

Francis Twarek, 82, of Marblehead, Ohio and formerly Solon, Ohio died Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at Riverview Health Care Campus, Oak Harbor, Ohio. He was born April 25, 1925 in Marblehead, a son of the late Michael & Anna (Hanik) Twarek. He married Magdalene “Maggie” Richick on June 18, 1949 and she preceded him in death on March 1, 2006. Fran worked for U.S. Gypsum retiring from C & A Drywall, a subsidiary of U.S. Gypsum in 1986. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II. Fran was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marblehead, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7572, Marblehead, where he was a past commander, American Legion Post 83, Sandusky, and was an avid golfer. Surviving is his daughter, Mary Ann (Robert) Cook of Demotte, IN; sons, Thomas (Ellen) Twarek of Crawfordsville, IN, James (Christine) Twarek of Aurora, OH, John (Tina) Twarek of Kansas City, MO, and David (Susan) Twarek of Solon, OH; 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, George, Cal and Larry Twarek all of Marblehead, and his sister, Helen (Butch) Meterko of Marblehead. He was preceded in death by his wife, brothers, Michael, and John Twarek; sisters, Mary Kokinda, Anne Babcock, and Sophia Hallier. The family will receive friends from 2-8 P.M. Friday at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, Lakeside-Marblead, where a parish prayer service will be held at 6 P.M. Friday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. James Brown at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, May 7, 2007 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marblehead, where the body will lie in state from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the Mass. Interment will be in St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Marblehead, with V.F.W. Post 7572 conducting military graveside rites.
