Frances L. Lucas

Frances L. Lucas, 83, of Port Clinton, Ohio, died Thursday, May 31, 2007. She was born on December 11, 1923 in Tennessee, a daughter of the late Robert & Flora (Underhill) Tunnell. On October 23, 1948, she married Lawrence J. Lucas, and he preceded her in death on June 7, 2001. Mrs. Lucas worked as a secretary and a laborer at the former Standard Products Company, Port Clinton, until her retirement. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton, the Ladies Auxiliaries of American Legion Post 113, and V.F.W. Post 2480. Mrs. Lucas did volunteer work benefiting senior citizens and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Linda Arter, Cincinnati, OH, Nancy (T. Park) McRitchie, Oak Harbor, OH, Jean Oby, Berea, OH, James (Mary) Lucas, Medina, OH, Joyce (Steve) Hartman, Archbold, OH, John (Bonnie) Lucas, Eastlake, OH; Daughter-in-law, Peggy Lucas, Norwalk, OH; grandchildren, Eric (Melissa) Arter, Christopher (Erin) Lucas, Joe Lucas, Thomas McRitchie, Leah McRitchie, Catherine Oby, David Oby, Jimmy Lucas, Sam Lucas, Ben Lucas, Rachel Burton, Megan Burton, Josh Lucas, Zack Lucas; great- grandchildren, Ashley Arter, Benjamin W. Lucas, Max Lucas; and her sister, Beulah Schiefly, Port Clinton. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Lawrence R. “Rob” Lucas, and her brothers: George Tunnell and Delbert Tunnell. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Sunday at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Port Clinton. Prayers will begin at 9:30 AM Monday at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church. The Rev. John C. Missler will officiate, and interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery Port Clinton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Norwalk Catholic School’s Larry Lucas Heart and Soul Scholarship fund, or to Stein Hospice.
