Florence Marie Lemke

Florence "Marie" Lemke, 94 of Elmore, OH died Tuesday, November 03, 2009 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. She was born January 21, 1915 in Hessville, OH to the late Louis and Florence (Reed) Stotz. On August 1, 1937 she married Arthur J. Lemke who preceded her in death March 3, 1994. Mrs. Lemke was a lifetime farm wife and retired in 1977 from the Harris- Elmore/Woodmore Schools as Head Cook following 25 years of service. Marie was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Elmore where she was an active member of the Honor Workers, and a member of the Fremont Moose. She also served on the Election Board for many years. She loved playing Euchre and you could often find her playing at the Port Clinton Moose, Fremont Moose, or Country Keg. She was best known for her pie baking, sewing and was the "Best Grandma in the World". Most everyone knew her as and called her "Grannie". Survivors include her sons: Les (Natasha) Lemke of Elmore, OH, Clayton Lemke of Genoa, OH, and Gene (Lois) Nolan of Vista, CA; grandchildren: Robyn Watson, Jeff (Hillary) Nolan, Julie (Mike) Bodiford, Janet (Andrew) Sheiner, Clifton (Renee) Lemke, and Jill (Mike) Weddle; 10 great- grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandsons. She was also preceded in death by brothers: Richard, William, and Robert Stotz and sisters: Irene Damschroder and Katherine Sebring. Visitation will be Thursday from 2-9pm Thursday with the family present 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Crosser Funeral Home, Elmore- Genoa Chapel, 19550 W. State Route 51, Elmore, OH. Funeral Services will be held at 11am, Friday, November 6, 2009 at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Harris-Elmore Union Cemetery.
