Florence L. Bach

June 29, 1921 — April 14, 2013

Florence L. Bach, 91, of Elmore, OH lost her battle with pancreatic cancer Sunday, April 14, 2013 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. She was born June 29, 1921 in Rural Elmore to the late Elam and Bertha (Ernsthausen) Ansted. She was a 1939 graduate of Harris- Elmore High School and a graduate of the Tri- State Business College. Florence did clerical work at Toledo Trust and then Libby-Owens Ford, both in Toledo, OH. Upon the return of her husband, Gaillard Bach whom she married February 26, 1944. She was a devoted farm wife working alongside her husband and sons on the farm and made the holidays a special time of remembrance for the family. She loved working with her hands. She made afghans for all her grandchildren and enjoyed both knitting and crochet. She was a member of St. Paul-Trinity United Methodist Church, Women of the Church, Lin-Mor Farm Council, Sugar Creek 9-Hole Golf League, and was the last remaining member of the Washington Martha's Farm Wives Women's Club. Florence will be remembered as a person who always saw the "good" in people. Survivors include her husband of 69 years Gaillard of Elmore and sons: Daniel (Phyllis) Bach and Gary (Deborah) Bach all of Elmore; grandchildren: Greg (Nicki) Bach, Rachel Carn, Christina (Jordon) Bork, Bradley (Erin) Bach, Laura Bach, Andrew Bach, Tonya (Larry) Young, Brian (Aimee) Bach, and Katherine (Brandon) Rutkowski; 15 great- grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and sister-in-law Mary Hastings of Wyomissing, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant son David Bach, and brothers Kenneth and John Ansted. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-8pm at the Crosser Funeral Home, Elmore-Genoa Chapel. Funeral Services will begin at 11am Thursday, April 18, 2013 at the Funeral Home with Rev. Melissa Steinecker officiating. Burial will be in Harris-Elmore Union Cemetery. Memorial Contributions can be made to: Hospice of Northwest Ohio, St. Paul-Trinity United Methodist Church, or a charity of the donor's choice.
