Florence Elizabeth Bowyer

Florence Elizabeth Bowyer, 95, of Oak Harbor, Ohio died Saturday, November 29, 2008 at Riverview Senior Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor. She was born on June 29, 1913 in New Washington, Ohio, the daughter of the late Ralph and Hazel (Biber) Knodel. She was formerly married to Laurel Nesbitt on January 11, 1928 and he preceded her in death in July 1982. She married Leslie W. Bowyer on August 29, 1946 and he preceded her in death on April 11, 2007. She worked as a gun inspector at the Erie Proving Grounds, then as a laborer at Standard Products, both in Port Clinton. She was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Port Clinton VFW Post #2480. Survivors include her son: Leslie H. (Kathy) Bowyer, Oak Harbor; daughters: Bertha Gracely and Marcia Chaffin, both of Port Clinton; Janet (Harold) Skinner, Livonia, MI; Fannie (Jack) Walters, Vickery, OH; Darla (Paul) Fisher, Oak Harbor;26 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; 33 great-great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her daughters: Elizabeth Nesbitt and Carol Dalton; granddaughters: Rose Cox and Bonnie Harris; grandson: Michael Chaffin; great-granddaughter: Danielle Cox; and brothers: Albert, Charles, Ralph, Paul and Karl Knodel. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2008 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton, where members of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Port Clinton VFW Post #2480 will conduct services at 7:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at the funeral home with burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery.
