Florence E. Damschroder Wagner, 94, of Elmore, OH, died Friday, September 26, 2014 at Mercy St. Charles Hospital, Oregon, OH. She was born in Woodville Township, Sandusky County on August 26, 1920, a daughter of Albert & Anna M. (Kasischke) Deitemyer. Florence attended Woodville schools. She was well known for her cooking and baking, and was a cook and cashier at the former Brush Wellman Co. She also made pies for the Snack Bar in Elmore, and cooked for the Elmore Kiwanis Club for many years. Florence loved to work with her hands and was an accomplished embroiderer, which she did nearly until the day she passed away. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and quilting. A life-long member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Elmore, much of Florence's handiwork is still visible there. She was an active member and past president of the Ladies Aid of the church, and was a member of the former Elmore Mother's Club. On February 24, 1940, Florence married Harold H. Damschroder, and after 54 years of marriage, he preceded her in death on May 5, 1994. She married Arthur Wagner on July 19, 1997, and he passed away on April 5, 2011. Florence is survived by her daughters, Linda Millhime, Woodville, OH and Norma Elmer, Elmore, OH; sister, Viola McCarty, Elmore; 8 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Gary Damschroder; daughter, Fran Weng; and brothers, Norman, Arthur, John, and Edgar Deitemyer. Friends are invited to call from 2-8 P.M. Monday at Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Elmore-Genoa Chapel, 19550 West State Route 51. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 412 Fremont Street, Elmore, where friends may call after 10:00 A.M. Tuesday. Rev. Stephen Lutz will officiate, and interment will be in Harris-Elmore Union Cemetery. Following the committal service, a luncheon will be served at the church.
