Faye E. Deitemyer, 90 of Elmore, OH died Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo, OH following a fall at home. She was born April 15, 1927 in Genoa, OH to the late Arthur and Mary (Finn) Clabaugh and was raised by her late foster parents Charles and Ethel Schroeder. On April 11, 1951 she married Edgar L. Deitemyer who preceded her in death March 8, 2011. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Elmore. Faye retired from Woodmore Local Schools in 1987, where she was employed as a teacher's aide and secretary for 20 years. She also worked as a secretary at Detroit Ball Bearing and Owens Illinois in Toledo. She enjoyed her retirement years traveling, playing bridge, and especially her family and friends. Surviving is her daughter LuAnne (Bob) Larson of Oregon, OH; sons: Tom (Sue) Deitemyer of Elmore, and Bill Deitemyer of Woodville, OH; grandchildren: Allison (Eric) Sitter, Andrew (Anna) Wend, Dana (Kelly) Wend, Matt (Heather) Deitemyer, Danny Deitemyer, Ashley (Josh) Smith, and Betsy (Kevin) Winters; great- grandchildren: Madison and Grace Sitter; Olivia and Jackson Smith, and Beckett Wend; special step- grandchildren: Chris Bailey, Beth (Jay) Gajdostik, and Debbie Roginski; and special step-great- grandchildren: Kevin, Ryan, & Jenna Bailey, Regan, Grant, & Harrison Gajdostik, and Katie, Cassidy, Kylie, & Jacob Roginski; sisters: Ruth Hetrick of Elmore, Joyce (Eugene) Kontak of Elmore, and Bertha Leppert of Genoa, OH. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, foster parents, daughter- in- law Marsha Deitemyer, and sister Betty Hilt. Funeral Services will begin at 11am on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at St. John's United Church of Christ, Elmore with the Rev. Margaret Mills officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service on Thursday. Burial will be held privately in Harris- Elmore Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to: St. John's United Church of Christ or Harris- Elmore E.M.S..
