Evelyn R. Finke

Evelyn Finke joined our Heavenly Father on June 19, 2017 at Otterbein North Shore, Lakeside, OH. She was born January 5, 1919, to Edward and Rozena Grieger. She married William R. Finke on October 12, 1940. William joined the Lord on February 2, 1984. Evelyn worked at the Ottawa County Home, Matthews Boat Co. and retired from the Ottawa County Recorder's Office. Evelyn was a loving gentle person with a generous heart. She had a talent for quilting, baking, and growing strawberries. She was an active member of the Priscilla Circle, St. John Lutheran Church, Port Clinton for many years. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Survivors include: children: Dennis W. Finke and Janet (William) Sokoloski; grandchildren: David (Jeanette Bauknecht) Finke, Pete (Lisa) Sokoloski, Jennifer Sokoloski; great-grandchildren: Rachel Fritz, Jacob Fritz and Hannah Fritz; sister: Lois Reinbolt; brother: Walter (Mae) Grieger and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter-in-law: Marsha Finke; granddaughter: Darcy Finke; brothers: Clarence Grieger, Ernest Grieger and sister: Hazel Dellinger. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Friday, June 23, 2017 at Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 301 N. Locust St. Oak Harbor, OH where visitation will be held Friday from 10:00 until the time of the service. Interment will follow in Salem Township Union Cemetery. Rev. Dr. James Lehman will be officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to St. John Lutheran Church, 207 Adams St. Port Clinton, OH 43452.
