Evelyn Miller

Evelyn Miller, 92, of Findlay, and formerly of Elmore, OH died Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay, OH. She was born July 27, 1914 in Lindsey, OH to the late Glenn & Cora (Siegenthaler)Schling. On April 8, 1936, she married Harold J. “Jack” Miller who preceded her in death on May 30, 1995. Ms. Miller was a homemaker. She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Elmore, where she served her church in various capacities. She was also one of the initial members of the Elmore Historical Society. Evelyn was an avid quilter and knitted afghans, making sure all of her grandchildren received one. Survivors include her daughters Joyce Votaw of Wheaton, IL, and Marilyn Shamp of Findlay, OH.; sisters, Lois Schling of Toledo and Francis Giesler of Florida; 6 grandchildren and 11 great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Jeannette Schling, Delores Smith, and Leona Reynolds, and brothers: Wilbur, Howard, Walter, and Robert Schling. Funeral Services will be held at 2 P.M. Sunday, May 6, 2007 at St. John’s United Church of Christ, Elmore with the Rev. Ed Heilman officiating. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 1 P.M. Sunday. Interment will be in Harris- Elmore Union Cemetery, Elmore.
