Evelyn Joyce Ropers

Evelyn Joyce Ropers, Sept. 11, 1932 - July 13, 2019 Evelyn Joyce Ropers, 86, of Danbury, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2019. The daughter of Amos and Jessie (Humphreys) Netherland, she was born September 11, 1932 in Gypsum. On November 20, 1953 she married John Henry "Hank" Ropers. He preceded her in death July 30, 2008. Mrs. Ropers was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Danbury and for many years enjoyed league bowling, crocheting and basket making. She also enjoyed board and card games and shared her good sense of humor with those around her. She is survived by her children, Ron Ropers of Danbury and Janet (Jim) McDonough, who resides in New Jersey, and grandchildren Max, living in Manhattan, and Brett, who resides in California. Her siblings Harry, Charles, Amos Jr. Netherland and Shirley Schmardebeck preceded her in death. A private memorial service will be held at a later date, with interment in St. Paul Lutheran Church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
