Eve Harris Mcconnell

Eve Harris McConnell of Catawba Island died Thursday evening, January 15, 2009 at the Jane Baker House at Otterbein North Shore. She was born April 13 in Riley Brook, New Brunswick, Canada and was the daughter of the late John S. and Sarah Harris. On February 1, 1939 she married Fred S. McConnell and he preceded her in death on January 20, 1981. Eve and her husband Fred formerly owned and operated the Upper Sandusky Airport and the Stoll Casket Company in Upper Sandusky. She was an alumnus of the Greir School in Pennsylvania, a former member of the First Presbyterian Church and a longtime member of the Catawba Island Club. She is survived by her sons Mike (Jackie) McConnell of Fresno, CA and Jim (Connie) McConnell of Ocala, Fla; grandchildren Kelly, Pat, Andrew (Elaine) and Sarah (Jimmy); great grandchildren Talulah, Finlay and Fergus; a sister Phyllis and her faithful companion Katy. Her husband Fred S. McConnell, a son Jon, a brother Ross and her parents preceded her in death. Visitation will be 2 5 pm Sunday at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Port Clinton where funeral services will be at 1 pm Monday. The Rev. Timothy Kuenzli will officiate. Burial will follow in Catawba Island Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, The SPCA or the Catawba Island EMS.
