Eugenia M. Davenport

Eugenia Mae “ Jeanne” Davenport, 85, of Port Clinton, OH and formerly of Millbury and Walbridge, OH, died Thursday, August 23, 2007 at her home with her family at her side. She was born June 19, 1922 in Gaffney, SC, a daughter of the late Bunyon and Eula (Harrison) Grubb. Jeanne married Junior Davenport on Jan 18, 1943 and he survives. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Jeanne was the executive vice president of Davenport Excavating & Construction for over 26 years. She also held the position of personnel administrator at Maxton Air Force Base during World War II. She was a member of Heritage Christian Church, Oregon and the Order of Eastern Star, Genoa, OH. She was previously a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Millbury. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Junior; son, James C. Davenport of Port Clinton; daughters, Frances (Corky) Felbinger of Elmore, Clair (Dick) Varwig of Walbridge, OH, Vicki (Dale) Butland of Columbus, OH, Kathy (Jerry) Rusk of Port Clinton, OH, and Brenda Petty of Columbus, OH. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Francis Grubb and sister, Luffalers Howard. Funeral services will be conducted by her pastor of 25 years, Larry G. Vriezelaar at 1:00 P.M. Sunday, August 26, 2007 at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Port Clinton where the family will receive friends from 7-9 P.M. Saturday. Interment will be in Lake Township Cemetery, Millbury.
