Erna Marie Louise Coppeler

Erna Marie Louise Coppeler, 96, of Port Clinton, OH died Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Magruder Hospital, Port Clinton, OH. She was born June 10, 1920 in Oshkosh, WI the daughter of Peter J. and Clara M. (Westphal) Springer. She graduated from Pemberville High School in 1938 and attended Capital University. She married Aldean S. "Dean" Coppeler on Dec. 21, 1940 and he preceded her in death on Jan. 4, 2005. Mrs. Coppeler was a Deputy Clerk for the Ottawa County Auditor. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Port Clinton where she was an organist for over 30 years. She was a member of the Naomi Circle at church and enjoyed playing bridge. Surviving are her sons: Duane A. (Cheryl) Coppeler of West End, NC, John A. (Ellen) Coppeler of Port Clinton, Douglas D. (Debbie) Coppeler of Port Clinton, Mark E. (Tammy) Coppeler of Port Clinton; grandchildren: Gary, Doug, Amy, John, Rich, Michelle, Ashley, Peter, William and Chalin; twelve great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband: Dean; brother: Daniel Springer and sister: Meta C. Hurrelbrink. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1124 Fulton St. Port Clinton, OH with Rev. Dr. James Lehman officiating. Visitation will be held Friday from 4:00 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Additional visitation will be held Saturday from 9:00 until the time of the service. Interment will be in Catawba Island Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to St. John Lutheran Church, 207 Adams St. Port Clinton, OH.
