Emilie Gulas

Emilie Gulas, 96, of Port Clinton died Monday, January 4, 2010 at Otterbein North Shore Retirement Village, Lakeside, OH. She was born May 25, 1913 in Gypsum, the daughter of the late John and Susan (Hudec) Koren. She married Paul Gulas on May 28, 1932 and he preceded her in death in March 1985. Mrs. Gulas along with her husband were the owners of Gulas Quality Market in Port Clinton. She was a former member of St. Paul Slovak Lutheran Church in Port Clinton and currently a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Port Clinton. She was very active in the Magruder Hospital Auxiliary. Surviving are her son: Robert Gulas of Port Clinton; daughter-in-law: Marlene Gulas of Port Clinton; son-in-law: Bill (Anne) Keesor of Ann Arbor, MI; grandchildren: Catherine Gulas of Port Clinton, Stephen Gulas of Port Clinton, Linda (Mark) Sprenger of Port Clinton, Laura Kinder of Birmingham, MI, Julie (Mark) Ribel of Traverse City, MI, Billy Keesor of Houston, TX; great-grandchildren: Ben and Alex Sprenger, Jake and Kennedy Gulas and Cooper and Brodi Ribel. She was preceded in death by her son: Ronald Gulas, daughter: Ruthie Keesor and sister: Margaret Brown. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010 at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Port Clinton where visitation will be held Saturday from 9:00 until the time of the service. Reverend James Lehman will be officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Magruder Hospital Aux. or St John Lutheran Church.
