Elnora M. Helmeci

Elnora M. Helmeci, 84, of Elmore OH died Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. She was born on September 20, 1928 in Port Clinton, Ohio. She graduated from Harris-Elmore High School and then married Andrew Helmeci, a returning WW II veteran. The couple resided in Elmore until his death in 2010. Elnora is survived by one half-sister, Kathryn Johnson of Delaware OH; daughters, Ann Luttio of Minnetonka MN and Barbara Helmeci of Hainesport NJ; sons, Thomas Helmeci of Woodville OH and Ronald Helmeci of NYC, NY; grandchildren, Angela (Steve) Cook, Jennifer (Steve) Burner, and James Helmeci; and, great-grandchildren, Ian Cook, Elizabeth Cook, Olivia Cook, Isabelle Cook, Ava Cook, Tyler Burner, Courtney Burner, Tayler Helmeci and Skyler Helmeci. She enjoyed reading, both books and newspapers, travel, and nature. She was an accomplished seamstress who also loved to knit, crochet and work counted cross stitch. She was a loyal fan of the PGA and all local sporting events in which her family participated. Above all, she enjoyed planning and participating in celebrations with her family. She was an active member of the women's group of St. Paul-Trinity United Methodist Church in Elmore for many years. Elnora was preceded in death by her parents, Forrest and Dorothy (Wendt) Sarnes; half-brother, Willard Sarnes; and half-sister, Wilma Sarnes. Services for Elnora will be held privately by the family. Memorial contributions may be given to the St. Paul Trinity United Methodist Church. Crosser Funeral Home, Elmore-Genoa Chapel, is assisting the family with arrangements.
