Ellsworth J. “Pete” Petersen, 89, of Port Clinton, OH, died Wednesday at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo. He was born October 6, 1916 in Port Clinton, the son of Peter J. and Margaret V. (Johnson) Petersen. He was employed by the Erie Army Depot until his retirement when it closed. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the US Navy aboard the USS Topeka. He was an avid bowler and a member of the 700 club. Surviving are his daughter Kathleen (Ted) Zibert of Port Clinton; sons Gary of Texas and Ronald of Port Clinton; Six Grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol (Paysen) Petersen on April 23, 1995; his son, Robert Allen; three brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Port Clinton with the Rev. James Lehman officiating. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery.
