Elizabeth J. Taps, 92, of Elmore, Ohio, died Monday at Heartland Hospice, Waterville, Ohio. Betty was born in Bryan, Ohio on February 13, 1918, the daughter of the late Donald & Anna B. (Baughman) Boothman. On May 2, 1948, she married Richard E. Taps, and he preceded her in death on November 7, 2003. Betty was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Elmore, and was a former Girl Scout leader. An award-winning artist, she also loved to travel. Betty and Richard enjoyed 36 cruises together and spent 25 winters in Fort Myers Beach, Florida. Betty is survived by her daughter, Brenda (Stephen) Mohr, Perrysburg, Ohio. Friends may call from 4-7 P.M. Wednesday at Crosser Funeral Home, Elmore-Genoa Chapel, 19550 West State Route 51. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at St. John's United Church of Christ, Elmore, with the Revs. William Bartholomew and John W. Bock officiating. Interment will be in Harris-Elmore Union Cemetery.
