Eleanor F. Van Loon, 97, of Sandusky, and formerly of Painted Post, NY died Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Firelands Regional Medical Center, South Campus. She was born Nov. 4, 1914 in Painted Post the daughter of Allan and Alida (Spencer) Badger. She married Donald Fenn Van Loon on June 25, 1942 and he preceded her in death on April 6, 1992. Mrs. Van Loon was a member of Painted Post Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir and was active on the church council. She was an avid Bridge player and loved to travel. She loved sports especially college football, college basketball and major league baseball. When her husband was transferred she moved to Rijseijk, Netherlands where she and her husband lived for seven years. Surviving are her sons: Jeffrey (Marta) Van Loon of West Salem, OH, John Van Loon of Canton, OH; Brother: Spencer (Margaret) Badger of Penn Field, NY; grandchildren: David (Cheryl) Van Loon, Shawna Van Loon, Heather Van Loon, Ryan Van Loon, Kristen (Jean Christophe Califano) Holland, Michael (Julie) Holland, Katherine Holland; great-grandchildren Julien and Dylan; son-in-law: Larry Holland of Catawba Island. She was preceded in death by her husband and daughter: Janice Holland. Visitation will be held Saturday, April 28, 2012 from 1:00 3:00 pm at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Fuenral Home, Port Clinton. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Monday, April 30, 2012 at Painted Post Presbyterian Church, Painted Post, NY. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
