Elaine Evelyn Mackey, 90, of E. Bayshore Road, Marblehead, died surrounded by family and at her home.
She was born in Marblehead, Ohio to Fred and Laurel (Kihlken) Lambert. Elaine graduated from Danbury High School in 1951. She married Emmett Mackey on June 27, 1953. And he proceeded her in death on March 4, 1992. Her parents, brothers Richard (1976) and Alton (2012), companions Dewey Hammond (1999), Jack Peters (2022) and grandchildren Ryan Mackey and Chasity Hickle also preceded her in death.
Elaine was retired, but had previously worked at the Erie Army Depot, and years later at Foodtown in Port Clinton, Sandusky and Fremont. She was a lifetime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Danbury Township and served on alter guild for many years. She regularly attended the Danbury Senior Center and enjoyed genealogy, was an avid reader and enjoyed the plants and gardens which filled her beloved backyard. But her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
She is survived by sons, Douglas A. Mackey (Susan) of Phoenix, Arizona, Gerald E. (Sharon) Mackey of Catawba, Dale E. Mackey and Timothy E. Mackey (Stacey) of Marblehead, a daughter, Sharon E. Salyers (Scott) of Oak Harbor, eleven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 6, 2024 from 12:00 noon – 5:00 pm at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 E. Harbor Rd. Lakeside-Marblehead, OH.
Services will be 1:00 pm Monday, October 7, 2024 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Danbury Township. Following cremation, she will be interred at St. Paul Cemetery.
