Elaine A Monak

Elaine Ann Monak, 82, of Catawba Island, died Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Riverview Health Care Campus, Oak Harbor, OH. She was born August 17, 1929 in Marblehead, OH the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Adams) Dorko. She married Edmund Monak on May 21, 1955 and he preceded her in death on May 4, 1986. Mrs. Monak was a Registered Nurse for Magruder Hospital retiring in 1989. She graduated from St. Joseph Academy in Adrian, MI and also Providence School of Nursing in Sandusky. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marblehead and the Red Hats of Port Clinton. She enjoyed sewing, shopping, going to teas, traveling, puzzles and attending the RN retirees luncheon. Surviving are her daughters: Kim (Don) Hanville of Marblehead, Melanie (Charlie) Hallier of Marblehead, Shawn (Tony) Parasiliti of Curtice, Valerie (Brian) Coles of Milan, Missy (Brian Rupp) Bird of Monroeville; son: Jude (LuAnn) Monak of Oak Harbor; grandchildren: Andy (Christine) Hanville, Amber (Jimmer) Kennedy, Donya Hanville, Adam Parasiliti, Allison Parasiliti, Anthony Parasiliti, Jeremy Coles, Braden Coles, Tristan Bird, Alexandria Bird; great-grandchildren: Brennan Hanville, Alyssa Hanville, Cole Parasiliti, Tony Parasiliti, MacKenzie Parasiliti; brother: Raymond Dorko of Marblehead; brother-in-law: Norbert Monak of Marblehead; sister-in-law: Leona Monak of Marblehead; special neighbors Zeke and Joyce Zura and all of her friends at the Chalet. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Edmund; brothers: Cyril, Daniel, Francis, Andrew, Clarence and Lauren Dorko; sisters: Veronica Dorko, Gladys Dorko and Mary Sherer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Dan Ring at 10:30 am Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marblehead. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 2:00 8:00 pm at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, LakesideMarblehead. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Marblehead.
