Eileen M. Rothert, 90, of Elmore, Ohio, died Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at the Genoa Care Center, Genoa, Ohio. She was born near Elmore on February 15, 1919, a daughter of Horatio & Maude (Hasselkus) Anstead. On October 22, 1938, she married Carl W. Rothert, and he preceded her in death on November 14, 1991. Eileen assisted Carl in the operation of their farms in Clay Township, often hauling produce to the processing plants in Fremont. She enjoyed quilting pillow tops, crocheting, canning, baking zucchini bread, and tending her flower and vegetable gardens. Eileen was a member of St. Paul-Trinity United Methodist Church, the Ohio Farm Bureau Council, and the former Home Arts Club. She and Carl also were fond of travelling. At one time, Eileen worked at the former Elmore Super Value. Eileen is survived by her daughters, Faye (Gary) Rhiel and Mary Ann (David) Fegley, daughter-in-law, Susie Rothert, all of Elmore; grandchildren, Tracy (Dave) Dresser, Trent (Julie) Rothert, Todd (Shiela) Rothert, Jason Rhiel, Angie Fegley, and Eric (Holly) Fegley; great-grandchildren, Allie, Ben, Sara, Molly, Jake, Emma, Lily, Carly, Claire, Taylor, and Morgan. In addition to her husband, Carl, she was preceded in death by her parents; son, Paul Rothert; sister, Myrth Rauch, and brothers, Raymond and Melvin Anstead. Family and friends are invited to call from 2-8 P.M. Friday at the Crosser Funeral Home, Elmore-Genoa Chapel, 19550 West State Route 51, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday. Pastor Rick Stuhmer will officiate, and interment will be in Harris-Elmore Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul-Trinity United Methodist Church or the Paul Rothert Scholarship at Woodmore High School.
