Edwin L. Meyer

Edwin L. Meyer, 79 of Elmore, OH died Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Stein Hospice In Patient Unit in Sandusky, OH. He was born October 31, 1932 in Hadar, Neb. to the late Lorenz G. and Meta (Wietzke) Meyer. On June 22, 1980 he married the former Melinda Bringe. Edwin worked for the State of Ohio for 27 years as a Roadside Park Supervisor. He also was a currier for the former Sky Bank in Elmore for 4 years and owned and operated M. & E. Ice Distributors for 10 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army as an Engineer during the Korean War, where he was stationed in Korea. He was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church, Maumee, OH; Elmore American Legion Post #279; Marriage Encounter; one of the 1st security officers in the state of Ohio to take full police training which lead to working at the Sandusky County Sherriff's Office as a Reserve. He enjoyed camping, reading and hooking rug. Survivors include his wife Melinda of Elmore; sister- in- law Madeline Mullins; nieces: Shawna (Stacy) Lavin and Michelle (Brad) Bedarnski; Mother- in- law Marilyn Chandler and great nephew Dylan Bedarnski. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Melvin "Phil" Meyer. Visitation will be Friday from 6-8pm at the Crosser Funeral Home, 19550 W. State Route 51, Elmore, OH 43416. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 11am at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 2250 Holland- Sylvania Rd., Maumee, OH 43537 with the family to receive friends 1 hour prior to the service. Private burial will take place at Harris- Elmore Union Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Elders Emergency Fund or the General Fund at Resurrection Lutheran Church, Maumee, OH.
