Edwin J. Missig

Edwin J. “Bud” Missig, 75, of Oak Harbor, OH, died Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at Magruder Hospital, Port Clinton, OH. He was born on August 21, 1930 in Sandusky, OH, a son of the late Edwin J. & Mildred (Link) Loris Missig. Bud was an eleven year veteran of the U.S. Army, and served in Korea during the Korean War. He was active in veteran’s organizations, including American Legion Post #114 and V.F.W. Post # 8732, both of Oak Harbor; the AMVETS, and the 40/8 both of Sandusky. Bud was also a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Oak Harbor. He was employed by Cedar Point, American Crayon, and retired from Palazzo-Sidoti Motors, Sandusky. On August 12, 1978, he married the former Shirley J. (Fought) Morris, and she survives. Also surviving are daughters, Eva Marie Morris, and Alice Jean (Roger) Kirkendall, both of Oak Harbor, Amy Louise (Robert) Wuest, Colorado Springs, CO, and Ramona K. Judd, Medina, OH; sisters, Corinne (Paul) Niehm and Janet (Joe) Sidoti, both of Sandusky, OH; brothers, Don (Alice) Missig, Vermilion, OH, and Joe (Kathy) Loris, Sandusky, OH; grandchildren, Cody Kirkendall, Kristen Kirkendall, Robert James Wuest, and Ryan David Wuest; 16 nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Marian Linz. The family will receive friends from 2-8 P.M. Friday at the Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday. Rev. David A. Voll will officiate, and interment will be in Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor.
