Edwin Dewey Scheff, 74, of Elmore, OH died April 27, 2016 at his home. Dewey was born April 17, 1942 in Springfield, OH to the late Edwin V. and Gladys (Lineback) Scheff. He was a 1960 graduate of DeVilbiss High School in Toledo, OH. He received his Bachelors degree in Business Services from the University of Toledo in 1987. Dewey served his country in the Submarine Service of the United States Navy. While working at Prestolite in Toledo, he met and later married the former Sally Rembold on June 10, 1967. Dewey worked at Teledyne CAE for over 30 years and later retired from Williams International in Walled Lake, MI in 2006. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Elmore, OH and a proud member of the Great Lakes Cobra Club. As an Eagle Scout he raised his boys through scouting as Scoutmaster of Troop 314 in Elmore. Dewey and Sally enjoyed gathering with friends at the DeVilbiss Alumni dinners every month. He truly enjoyed fishing, cruising in his Shelby Cobra, working on projects around the house, and being outdoors. Dewey is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sally Scheff, of Elmore, OH; sons: Jeffery (Gina) Scheff of Oregon, OH, and Jim (Robin) Scheff of Perrysburg, OH; sister Barbara Lafayette of Temperance, MI; brother Ronald (Carol) Scheff of Punta Gorda, FL; and grandchildren James, Owen, Sawyer, and Madilyn. Visitation will be Sunday May 1, 2016 from 2-8 P.M. at Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Elmore-Genoa Chapel, 19550 W. S.R. 51. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, May 2, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 412 Fremont St., Elmore, with the Rev. Stephen Lutz officiating. Burial will be in Harris-Elmore Union Cemetery, Elmore, OH.
