Edward Vangeloff, 94, of Sandusky passed away Monday, February 17, 2025, at his home. He was born July 8, 1930 in Youngstown, OH the son of Nicholas and Maria (Ahmak) Vangeloff. He married Irene Nickoloff on December 21, 1952.
Ed graduated from Taylor Allderdice High School and Kent State University with a BA in Mechanical Engineering. He retired in 1990 from Port Clinton Manufacturing where he was the Vice-President of Sales and Engineering. Ed and Irene raised their family and lived in Port Clinton, OH for nearly 60 years. He was active in Rotary Club and a Past-President of the Port Clinton Chapter. Ed was also a member of Port Clinton Elks, Power Squadron, Colonial Club, Port Clinton Yacht Club, Catawba Island Club and Holy Assumption Orthodox Church in Marblehead, OH. He also served as a Port Clinton City Councilman. He and Irene were long-time members of Playmakers Civic Theatre, where Ed was a past-President and enjoyed performing in and directing many plays.
Surviving are his wife: Irene; sons: Kevin (Kristen) Vangeloff of Delaware, OH, Tom (Mary) Vangeloff of Cincinnati, OH, Ken (Laura) Vangeloff of Roscoe, IL, Don (Shelly Southwell) Vangeloff of Costa Mesa, CA; 4 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and sister: Virginia Cicero of Pittsburgh, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters-in-law: Theodore and Nedesha Vangeloff, Walter and Doris Vangeloff, and brother-in-law: Jim Cicero.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 28, 2025, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 E. Harbor Rd. Lakeside-Marblehead, OH. Parish Panachida prayer services will be 6:30pm Friday evening in the funeral home. Funeral services of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Holy Assumption Orthodox Church, 114 E. Main St. Marblehead, OH followed by interment in Catawba Island Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Edward may be given to Holy Assumption Orthodox Church in Marblehead, OH.
