Eduardo Borjas

October 13, 1949 — May 30, 2008

Eduardo "Ed" Borjas, 58, of Oak Harbor died unexpectedly Friday, May 30, 2008 at his home. He was born October 13, 1949 in McAllen, TX to the late Simon and Maria (Salinas) Borjas. He was a 1967 graduate of Elmore High School. On July 28, 1973 he married Mary Diana Rios and she survives. Ed retired from the Davis Besse Nuclear Power Station Security Department. He served in the United States Air Force during Vietnam where he was a C-130 Hercules Crew Chief. He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Oak Harbor. Ed was also a wrestling coach for many years in the Oak Harbor and Genoa School Systems. He enjoyed golfing, riding his motorcycle, and traveling to see his sons and grandchildren for which he took great pride in. Ed's sarcasm and "playful ribbing" will be greatly missed and was a part of what made him such a great person to be around. Survivors include his wife of 34 years Diane of Oak Harbor, sons: Robert (Melissa) Borjas of Yuma, AZ, Thomas A. (Jennifer) Borjas of Gold Canyon, AZ and Curt (Lindsey) Borjas of Okinawa, Japan; brothers: Jose (Wendy) and Martin (Terri) Borjas both of Genoa, OH; sisters: Julia (Ed) Soto of South Gate, MI, Maria (Gene) Mireles of Elmore, OH, Aurora (Jeff) Jones of Oak Harbor, Elisa (Oscar) Rios of Elliston, OH, Dora (Ron) Osborne of Taylor, MI, Linda Borjas of Elliston, Grandchildren: Michael, Alanna, Jayden, Christopher, Eliana, Briana, Jacob, and Josiah. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Reynaldo (Otila) Borjas. Visitation will be Monday from 2-4 & 6-8:30pm at the Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor. There will be a Parish Wake Service beginning Monday evening at 8:30pm at the Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10am Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Oak Harbor. Burial will be in Elliston Cemetery with Military Honors given by the Honor Guard from Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, OH. Memorial Contributions can be made to the American Red Cross.
