Edna G. Davis

Edna G. Davis, 77, of Elmore, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at Mercy St. Charles Hospital, Oregon, Ohio with her family at her side. She was born in Deshler, Ohio on October 20, 1934, a daughter of Arthur & Florence (Dishong) Keeran. Edna was a 1952 graduate of the former Portage Township High School in Wood County. She married Rev. Keith Davis on November 25, 1952, and started her career as a homemaker and pastor's wife. Edna was a member of Bethel United Brethren Church, Elmore, where her husband served as pastor for many years. An avid collector of bears, she also enjoyed ceramics and crafts of all kinds. Christmas was Edna's favorite holiday, and she loved the first snow of the season. Edna also enjoyed reading, traveling and camping. A strong supporter of Samaritan's Purse, Edna made hundreds of Christmas boxes over the years for Operation Christmas Child. She is survived by her husband, Rev. Keith Davis; children, Gail (Steve) Alberts, Toledo, Ohio, Miriam (Douglas) Martin, Pemberville, Ohio, Keith (Amanda) Davis, Sylvania, Ohio, and Sharon Davis, Elmore, Ohio; grandchildren, Christina LaMunyon, Elizabeth Jefferson, Isaac Martin, Amanda Geiser, Andhra Norman, Kendra Hartenstein-Davis, Morgan Hartenstein-Davis, Brittany Yost, and Gunnar Davis; 4 great grandchildren, sister, Phyllis (Lyle) Etter, Dupont, Ohio, brother, Benjamin Keeran, Florida, and caregiver and close family friend, Darin Gressman. She was preceded in death by her parents. Friends may call from 2-8 P.M. Thursday at the Crosser Funeral Home, Elmore-Genoa Chapel, 19550 West State Route 51, Elmore, where the family will be present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Graveside services will be held at 9:30 A.M. Friday at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Wayne, Ohio with a Celebration of Edna's life following at 11:00 A.M. Friday at Bethel United Brethren Church, Elmore. Memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan's Purse (Operation Christmas Child) or the pallative care unit of Mercy St. Charles Hospital.
